I wonder if you have cleaned the sprayer after spraying the herbicide? Due to the herbicide residue in the sprayer, it will cause different levels of damage to the crops, and the harvest will be unavailable in severe cases. This situation is common every year. Therefore, after we spray the herbicide, the sprayer should be cleaned in time so that we can avoid phytotoxicity when we use it again.
As there are many types of herbicides, there are mainly three types: water, suspension, and emulsion. Different herbicides also have different cleaning methods. The most common method used by many farmers is to use clean water, because there is no other special cleaning agent for the medicine barrel, the following common cleaning methods will be introduced to everyone.
1. Only need to wash with water
For some water-based herbicides, wash them with clean water two to three times. Our commonly used tribenuron-methyl, after spraying, wash it with clean water several times immediately. The bucket and some small parts should be cleaned. Then, fill the sprayer with clean water and soak it for 2~24 hours, and then clean it 2~3 times. safe to use.
Many farmers will wash the medicine bucket with muddy water in time after spraying the herbicide, and then clean it with water. This is because some herbicides are inactivated after encountering soil and lose their weeding effect.
2. When other methods are needed for cleaning
For the suspending agent herbicide, cleaning with water only may not be thorough, first rinse with water twice, then fill the sprayer bucket with water, put a small amount of washing powder and shake well, then remove the sprayer and nozzle and put it in the medicine bucket. Shake it well, let it stand for 24 hours, take out the parts and reinstall it.
Many herbicides are acidic. For emulsion herbicides, it is more difficult to clean. In this case, you can add edible alkali powder, the amount of each time is 125~150g, add it to a medicine bucket filled with water, and soak 2 Squirt after days, repeat 2~3 times.
2, 4-D butyl ester is the most difficult to clean. After spraying this herbicide, it needs to be washed thoroughly with 0.5% ferrous sulfate solution.
Now it's time to weed the wheat, and after spraying the herbicide, remember to clean the medicine bucket in time. If possible, you can also prepare an additional sprayer and use them separately to avoid phytotoxicity.
